💡 Editor's Note: NY Techweek was a whirlwind that left us with much to think about. During the very same week, AI Engineer’s world fair took place in SF (session recordings here). The session re-emphasized the concept of data-flywheel. A quite simple concept really - more user using your product, more datapoints you get to eval your product, the better you can make your product, which in turn attracts more users. It’s becomingly increasingly powerful as we enter a time where Agentic products are being created and shipped en masse. Compounded with more powerful models, better memory system and cheaper costs, we are going to see some amazing products that’s tailored ‘for you’ in the near future!
🎯 Key Insights
1. From Demo to Deployment
The shift is real - we're seeing fewer "wow, look at this!" demos and more "here's how we made it work at scale" discussions. Events like Bloomberg's production GenAI talk and the MLOps mini-summit are gold mines for practical insights.
2. The Memory Challenge
Multiple events focusing on AI agent memory systems? That's not a coincidence. As we build more sophisticated agents, memory becomes the differentiator between a toy and a tool. Don't miss the July 29th roundtable!
3. Infrastructure Matters
From Google Cloud Run GPUs to Kubernetes orchestration, July's events emphasize that great AI needs great infrastructure. The hackathon is a perfect opportunity to get hands-on with enterprise-grade tools.

So many exciting things happened in June - NY Techweek, AI Engineer’s World Fair, AI Startup School, Gemini CLI, Meta’s superintellience labs… Just to name a few.
With the development increasingly competent AI tools, the quantity of quality AI products will rise rapidly. With that comes a time where startups are forced to focus on the ‘productionization’ of their hacky startup projects and no doubt there will be an increased focus on production systems and reliability of the services. After all, no one likes using a product that ‘shuts down’ frequently.
With all that said, what excites me most? The combination of deep technical content (multi-agent architectures, memory systems) with hands-on building opportunities (hackathons, build sessions). Theory meets practice - exactly where innovation happens!
Don't try to attend everything. Pick events that align with your current challenges. Building agents? Focus on the agentic AI events. Scaling to production? The MLOps and Bloomberg talks are your jam. Just exploring? The hackathon and build sessions offer low-pressure learning.
See you out there, builders! And remember - in production, no one can hear your demo scream. :D
